BMW X5 and X6 to Get LCD Touchscreen Navigation System

BMW has announced that by late summer 2016, its X5 SUV and X6 SAC will be fitted with an updated navigation system. The 10.25-inch screen will retain its original size, though it will be modified with touchscreen capability, which is not currently available in any other BMW model other than in the 7 series.

BMW Sold Over 50,000 i-Series as of January

As of January, BMW has reached a new milestone with over 500,000 units from its i-series lineup, consisting of the automaker’s two plug-ins, the i3 and i8.

BMW Sells Nearly 300 X5 Hybrids in Just Two Months

The new and highly anticipated BMW X5 xDrive40e made its debut to the North American market in October, and reception exceeded expectations. As of December, the plug-in hybrid has sold 285 units. To break down the numbers, 118 X5s were sold in October. November fared even better with 167 units sold. The figures are not in yet for December, but the numbers are expected to be even more impressive due to holiday offers.

BMW X5 Series Helps Boost Company Profits

The BMW X5 SAV is on the rise and has helped the German automaker reach better than expected third-quarter profits. Overall, profit margins have decreased slightly, achieving 9.1 percent profit margins, compared to 9.4 percent the same quarter last year. According to German analyst Sascha Gommel, however, the company is actually performing “slightly better than expected.”
