- Oil – A well-maintained car has to get regular oil changes. Clean oil helps keep moving parts in the engine lubricated, maximizing performance and longevity. Oil should typically be changed every 3,000 to 5,000 miles, depending on the type and quality you use.
- Tires – In order for tires to last as long as possible, they need to be rotated. This is because they don’t wear evenly. Rotating them a couple of times a year – when you get your oil changed is a good rule of thumb – is a smart idea.
- Battery – Because your car won’t start without your battery, having it checked regularly is important. A battery generally lasts three to five years, so gauging its power as it gets older gives a good insight into its condition.
- Brakes – Having your brakes checked every year is also an essential part of car maintenance. Things like brake pads wear out over time and need to be replaced. Even if they seem like they’re in fine shape, you never want to take a chance with your brakes.
