When you’re cruising in your BMW luxury car, a lot is riding on your tires. Your BMW car depends on well-maintained tires to protect you and your passengers. This is why you have to ensure that they are always in good shape. Here are four warning signs that you need BMW repair or replacement for your tires.

Shallow Treads

In order for tires to offer the best traction, they require deep, well-designed treads. Because of road wear, the treads erode over time. And when the treads become too shallow or show balding, you’re at risk for a roadside emergency.

Frequent Deflating

While tire pressure can fluctuate, for the most part, it should remain the same. If you need to reinflate one or more tires more often than usual, they may have been punctured, causing air leakage. If it’s a relatively new tire, this may be able to be patched, otherwise, it will need to be replaced.

Cracked Sidewalls

Another sign you don’t want to ignore with your tires is cracking. This is telling you that the rubber is degrading, which occurs with standard wear and tear, as well as driving in harsh conditions.

Alarming Noises

If you hear strange sounds coming from your tires when you drive, it could indicate a number of issues. For example, if there is a humming or grinding noise — especially when changing lanes — this is a strong indication of a bad wheel bearing. If you hear a loud flapping sound, you may have a deflated or flat tire, which can cause a roadside emergency — or a dangerous accident.

If you suspect something is wrong with any of your tires, make an appointment with the service center at BMW of Asheville. We offer both tire repairs and replacements, so you can rest assured that you’re safe and secure on the open road.
