Car Service

In almost every scenario, it’s better to be proactive than reactive. When you take care of car issues before they turn into problems, you save yourself a lot of time and trouble. And when it comes to car care, you can also save yourself a lot of money. These are the preventative maintenance tasks your BMW needs regularly:

Oil and Filter Changes

There’s a reason why oil is often called the lifeblood of a vehicle, as it keeps an engine clean and its moving parts well-lubricated. When oil gets older, it gets thicker, which impedes engine performance. In addition to a loss of power, old oil also hurts a vehicle’s fuel economy. Oil should be changed about every six months or 6,000 miles. During your routine oil change, our technicians will change your filters and top-off fluids, as well.

Tire Rotations

If you want your tires to last as long as possible, they need to be rotated. Tire rotation keeps the wear on your tires even and prevents emergencies like tire blowouts. As with oil changes, this should be done twice per year. A new set of tires may have a lifespan of 50,000 miles, but if you don’t rotate them, they may not last half as long. Properly rotated tires also improve performance and safety.

Brake and Battery Checks

Over time, the components of your braking system wear down. This includes the pads, shoes, and rotors. Having the brakes examined annually will alert you to any issues or needed repairs. Your battery should be tested yearly as well. This will let you keep tabs on its charge so you’ll know how much life it has left, ensuring that you don’t wind up stranded with a dead battery.
