Power and Capability
Even base models of the BMW X5 are equipped with a very potent engine. Take advantage of a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder that produces 335 horsepower and 331 lb.-ft. of torque.
There are also two other available engines as well:
- 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine and an electric motor: 389 horsepower and 443 lb.-ft. of torque
- 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine: 600 horsepower and 553 lb.-ft. of torque
All engines are paired with a smooth-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission. While rear-wheel drive (sDrive) does come standard, you have the option to add all-wheel drive (xDrive) to any model.
Overall, this SUV has outstanding acceleration, and the standard engine will get you from zero to 60 mph in just 5.3 seconds. With a V8 engine under your hood, you can cut that time to about four seconds.
Spacious Interior
Depending on the configuration you go with, you’ll be able to fit up to seven people in the BMW X5. Plus, this SUV offers tons of cargo room: 33.9 cubic feet behind the second row and 72.3 cubic feet when it’s down.
