The BMW i3 can go up to 153 miles on a full charge. With a 120-volt household-style Level One charger, you’ll be able to get three to four miles of range per hour. This increases to 26 miles per hour with a 240-volt Level Two charge. And with a 480-volt Level 3 DC charger – which are the ones found at public charging stations – you can charge your BMW i3 up to 80 percent in only 40 minutes.
The standard motor in the BMW i3 will give you 170 horsepower, though there is another one available that will bump that up to 181 horsepower. A single-speed transmission comes with either motor.
A nimble car, the BMW i3 is great for city driving. Plus, its regenerative braking system utilizes one-pedal driving, making it perfect for stop-and-go driving.
Tech and Safety Features
The BMW i3 comes with loads of standard tech features, including satellite and HD radio, Bluetooth® connectivity, and Apple CarPlay™ integration.
