Customers tend to inquire a lot about the BMW i Series during the summer months at our BMW dealership near Asheville, NC. This is expected, considering that people often spend more time in the car during this time of year when they are preparing for lengthy road trips. It makes sense that car buyers are interested in hybrid models to keep fuel costs to a minimum.

The 2017 BMW i3 and 2017 BMW i8 are garnering a lot of attention. It was confirmed earlier this year that the BMW i3 will be getting a BMW i3S variant. As for the BMW i8, it has been reported that the refreshed version released later in 2017 will have a power boost to 420 horsepower. The experts at BMW of Asheville suspect that the car will have more or less the same layout, including the same 1.5-liter 3-cylinder engine and electric motor powering the front wheels.

Insiders also believe some tweaks will be made to the gas engine, and upgrades will also be made to both front and rear axles. There may even be a change in the battery pack, including the adoption of some of the technology from the 94Ah battery in the current BMW i3. This battery is more energy-dense and will provide the extra juice needed to keep up with the electric motor's power boost.

There is also news regarding the upcoming BMW i8 Spyder. This model is expected to contain concepts from the BMW i Vision that was showcased at the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show.

Summer is the time to visit BMW of Asheville and check out the BMW i Series or additional models like the 2017 BMW 4 series. You can look up our car specials near Arden, NC to view the offers we currently have or stop into our dealership to see for yourself!
