This is a big milestone for BMW. The automaker is celebrating 100 years of excellence. Its vehicles have undergone various changes both functionally and aesthetically over a 10-decade span. As part of its centennial celebration, the brand has released a Vision vehicle known as the VISION NEXT 100. This futuristic looking car will be making its debut in Beijing in May 2016.

Drivers will be able to select between Ease and Boost modes. With the push of a button, you can assume total control of the car or let the vehicle handle the navigation in its full-autonomous mode. Another notable feature is the fully connected AI interface. Instead of the typical digital display, all the information is projected via hologram on the windshield.

The display will also show road hazards that may not be so apparent to the naked eye. An example of this is an approaching bicyclist obscured by a big-rig truck. The cyclist is projected on the windscreen, in which the truck takes on a seemingly semi-transparent appearance.

On top of that, the driver seat also swivels, allowing you to kick back and face the rear seat passengers while the car drives itself.

After its Beijing tour, the BMW VISION NEXT 100 will also be making stops in the US and UK. The company also has another two Vision vehicles, based on Rolls-Royce and MINI brand vehicles. On top of that, there will also be a Vision motorcycle that will be making its debut in Los Angeles.

Most likely, a vehicle like the VISION NEXT 100 is beyond your range. Do not worry, though, BMW of Asheville has plenty of current models in our inventory, such as the BMW 2016 3 series. You can check it out or any other model by speaking with one of our BMW dealers serving Hendersonville, NC.
