Automobiles these days are becoming more sci-fi-esque than ever with embedded technology improving driver and passenger experience. The BMW 7 series is no exception, and the 2016 edition will feature new technological gadgets and wonders that make this sedan a must-have for techies.

For consumers that opt for the executive package, some of the interior specs include an electronically removable headrest and a footrest that pops out in place for the front passenger seating. A Samsung Android also rests at the rear center console and controls a variety of functions, including the Vitality Program, in which the seat becomes a makeshift massager and keeps the occupants comfortable for long road trips.

Other optional add-ons include the Panoramic Sky Lounge LED Roof, which casts a "starlit sky" using a series of projected lights displayed over the glass sunroof. This creates a beautiful visual spectacle for the passengers as they cast their gaze upward.

As for technology catered towards the driver, anyone behind the wheel will benefit from exterior cameras that actively scan for road signs and upload the data to a heads-up display. While the car does not drive itself, it does come with a traffic jam assist function that automatically pilots the car during peak traffic conditions as long as at least one hand maintains contact with the steering wheel.

Lastly, the new 7 series will debut iDrive 5.0, which enables controls via hand gestures. While the functions are limited, the driver or passenger will be able to adjust the radio's volume using a circular finger wave.
