Most notably, the 2013 gets added horsepower to all of its trim levels. Though slight, just 15 horsepower to the xDrive35i trim level and 40 horsepower to the xDrive50i trim level, the upgrade is nonetheless appreciated. The engine remains a 3.0-liter, V6, however. Additionally, all models get LED taillights.
Also new to the 2013 BMW X5 is the addition of a version of this vehicle in the high-end, performance-driven BMW lineup - the M line. Under the M nameplate, the 2012 BMW X5 offers drivers a 4.4-liter, V-8 engine with a whopping 555 horsepower. While this is likely more than 99.9% of drivers could ever justify needing, sometimes a lack of justification is just the ticket that we've been looking for.
