If you thought the 2018 BMW X7 was spacious, wait until you see the BMW X8. That is, of course, if it's ever released. The German automaker has confirmed that it is indeed contemplating about releasing a BMW X8, with a possible 2020 launch date.

 

In previous BMW M3 and BMW M4 models, the driveshaft was made from carbon fiber parts to bring down the total weight. However, the German automaker recently announced that it will be returning to steel for the driveshaft in order to conform to emission regulations.

The latest round of spy shots reveals a heavily camouflaged BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe being tested on public roads. 

The vehicle's design is similar to the Gran Coupe for the 2017 BMW 4 Series and 2017 BMW 6 Series. However, the BMW 2 Series version has a more upright greenhouse with shorter rear and front overhangs. It is also suspected that the model will have a rear hatch, similar to the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe.
