2019 BMW X2 and 2019 BMW i8 Unveiled at Detroit Auto Show

The Detroit Auto Show has already revealed new concept models from various automakers. The BMW brand is certainly taking advantage of this opportunity to showcase its newest plans and prototype vehicles. Among the rollouts include the 2019 BMW X2 and 2019 BMW i8 Coupe, and we at your local BMW dealership are ecstatic.

The BMW X2 was first unveiled at the 2016 Paris Auto Show. At the time, it was merely a concept vehicle. Now, the sports coupe has finally arrived, and it looks absolutely stunning with its large alloy wheels and rakish roof-line. Two trims will be released in the U.S., including a base model and an M variant. Both will feature a 2.0-liter turbo-four engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The total output is 228 horsepower and ability to go from zero to 60 mph in 6.3-seconds.

Another model that made its debut was the 2019 BMW i8. Two new versions will be available, including a coupe and an open-top roadster. Other changes include a tweak in the engine for a total of 369 horsepower. With the boost comes enhanced speed and acceleration. The BMW i8 Coupe can zip from zero to 60 in 4.2-seconds, while the Roadster does it in 4.4-seconds. If you are particularly interested in the BMW i8 Roadster, keep in mind that only 200 units will be produced.

Some of the other BMW models on display included the 2019 BMW X3, 2019 BMW i3, and a BMW X7 iPerformance concept.
