ALL-WHEEL DRIVE VS FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE IN FLETCHER, NC

At BMW of Asheville we are excited about being able to offer our customers a wide range of vehicles. Our BMW dealership serving Hendersonville, NC is packed with great luxury car options to give our customers plenty of choices. Between all the new BMW vehicles in the lineup as well as our pre-owned BMW models, we know we can always find our customers what they need on our lot. We know that some customers need an all-wheel-drive model while others prefer four-wheel drive based on their different driving situations, so we are happy to say we can provide both of those to our customers.

Choosing between all-wheel drive and four-wheel drive will depend on the customer. The all-wheel drive model has a drivetrain that uses the front, rear, and center differential to provide power to all wheels on the vehicle. The four-wheel drive car will have a drivetrain that uses two differentials and a transfer case to give the power to all four wheels of the car. The system will split the power between the front and rear axles so that you will get the maximum torque going to each of the wheels.  What does this mean for the driver? If you want a faster model, like many of our BMW drivers do, you should opt for the all-wheel drive. That is usually the better option for the sportier cars.

The all-wheel drive models give an increased grip and control to the vehicle under all road conditions. This would be a good option for a vehicle in a variety of weather conditions. As for the four-wheel drive, this model would be better in off-road conditions. You can take it out to more extreme terrains than you could with the all-wheel drive. Knowing these different pros and cons for each drivetrain will help you to decide which BMW model has the best options for you.

Like we have said, it will depend on what you are using your car for and what you condition you will be driving in to determine which of these models is more beneficial to you. We have everything from the 2016 BMW 3 Series to the BMW X1. If you have questions about your particular situation or if you are just ready to pick out one of our BMW cars for sale, we invite you to head over to our Fletcher, NC BMW dealership, located at 649 New Airport Road. We would be happy to show you different options and arrange for you to take a test drive when you find one you like.
